Winter Courses with Mountain Plan - Climb and Skiadded Dec/2010, see all Mountain Plan news & reviews
announcement by Mountain Plan
Winter 2010/11 seems to be fully underway here in the Highlands with some plunging temperatures and heavy snowfall in late November which seems to have set us up well for another busy winter of courses and trips.
We have already taken bookings from those keen to get courses and instruction this winter, winter skills and a variety of ski mountaineering courses are already booked.
Mountain Plan is a mountain skills instruction company based in the Aviemore with the Cairngorms national park at the doorstep but also offers courses across the Highlands. It is run by Dan Goodwin. We offer a wide range of courses all tailored to clients requirements. Rather than having set dates and a rigid course content we remain flexible on dates and also what the individual would like to cover within that, offering 1 to 5 day courses with 3 days often being the most popular. For example a winter skills course over a long weekend or mid week with an emphasis on avalanche awareness or movement on steeper ground or whatever you decide is important for you.
We are also running a wide range of ski mountaineering courses this winter which range from introductory courses through to advanced and also guided trips throughout the Highlands. We have teamed up with Mountain Spirit in Aviemore who are able to provide the equipment and whose hire equipment is of the highest standard. We already have bookings for this expanding aspect of mountain sport with days focussing on introductory skills, avalanche awareness for skiers and basic mountaineering skills to help prepare for tours in the Alps.
