The North Face®, the world's premier supplier of authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear is excited to announce: The North Face® Night at Kendal Mountain Festival.

The North Face® is taking over an entire venue on the evening of Saturday 19th November, with lectures and films from James Pearson, Simone Moro, Denis Urubko and Cory Richards.

First on stage is James Pearson; earlier this year along with Alex Honnold and Mark Synnott, he travelled to the Ennedi Desert of Chad, the first climbers to explore the remote landscape stacked with wild unclimbed towers.

"To cut a long and sandy story short, the trip was one I will remember for a long, long time – simply incredible. After a day in the air, and 3.5 days driving through the sand, we got our first glimpse of an alien world, the most isolated from civilisation I have ever felt. An un-climbed land! It was hard to believe, but according to our guide (a climber himself, and one of only a few people guiding in this area, with 40 years desert experience) we were the first group of climbers to visit this place!” James Pearson

If you missed out on The North Face® Speaker Series which has been touring for the last month, then this is your chance to experience a powerful story of exploration and friendship..... 2nd February 2011 – Simone Moro, Denis Urubko and Cory Richards rewrote mountaineering history by making the first winter ascent of 8035mt Gasherbrum ll.

“I went to Gasherbrum ll in winter because I could not accept that the Karakorum was considered impossible to climb during winter.” Simone Moro

“Simone fell to his knees and started crying. Cory shouted out something wild; and I looked at them as if I was external to all this. Distant.” Denis Urubko

“Something felt a little sinister. It was almost like the mountain was pissed that we climbed it – then everything went to hell.” Cory Richards

For a sample of what to expect, take a look at the trailer of the film COLD which has just won Best Film at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival.
