"We went in search of sun kissed rock and got squeaky styrofoam neve instead. The Tournier Spur on the north face of the Aiguille de Midi provided some loose but much needed acclimatisation and a return to summer Alpinism for Nick. The main event was a three day journey from Italy to France over Mont Blanc via the Grand Pillier D'Angle. The Bouchard into the Boivin-Vallen?ant led the way with amazing wintery conditions for August."
