Sandwood Bay, a Special Area of Conservation and an SSSI, is managed by landscape conservation charity the John Muir Trust. Here's what they say about it:

The JMT maintain the path to the bay, which is under constant erosion from the weather and footfall. They also monitor the area's spectacular wildlife and carry out deer management and beach cleaning with volunteers.
