Cosmic Hillbashers are delighted to announce the visit of Jamie Aarons to Aberdeen on Saturday 24th February.
Jamie grew up hating running but absolutely loved being outdoors. Her move to Scotland from the States in 2005 inspired her to get into trail running, mountain biking and sea kayaking. She’s had some success in ultra running; dipped her toes into adventure racing; and completed 2 Munro rounds. But in May 2023 she took on her most daunting goal yet: a continuous, self-propelled Munro round. Two years of planning and the coordination of a small army of support volunteers saw her not only complete the round, but achieve a new world record in the process.
She'll share tales of her prep and adventure - including lots of photos and video clips - along with a question and answer session. It will take place at the main lecture theatre at the MacRobert Building, University of Aberdeen. Doors open at 7pm, for a 7.30 start.
All profits from the event will be going to Jamie’s chosen charity, World Bicycle Relief.
