In this, the first of a five part video series called 'Hand Picked' from Marmot, we see Neil Mawson in action on his favourite routes at Pembroke, Wales.

Here Marmot introduce their series:

All too often we read stories and watch videos of the beautiful climbing that the rest of the world has to offer. All too often we are told about the latest mega-route, or another FA of a V15 boulder problem. There is absolutely no doubt that these ascents are impressive, but for the majority of us, they are way beyond the realms of possibility.

In this series of films presented by Marmot, five of Britain’s best climbers: Leah Crane, Neil Mawson, Jack Geldard, Steve McClure and Lucy Creamer, all famous for pushing hard and bagging top ascents of their own, showcase some of their Hand Picked favourite places to climb on their home soil, with routes that climbers aspiring to push their grades into the E-numbers and V-numbers can enjoy.

The five films are released in the lead up to the once-in-a-lifetime lecture that Lucy Creamer, Britain’s most accomplished female climber, will give at Kendal Mountain Festival on November 16th. ‘Accident or Design’ will be an intimate look at the woman beyond the climber, and will explore her motivations and inspirations, her drive and achievements, being in the media spotlight, dealing with potentially life changing surgery, and the many other highs and lows she has experienced along the way.

For more info on the lecture visit the Kendal Mountain Festival Website.

Please note, there will be a FREE BEER for every ticket holder of the lecture in the Marmot Tent. Yes, you did read that correctly.

Lovely to see a video with routes I can have a go at. Great film of Pembroke, I can't think why I haven't been yet. Need to get on it,

Love it. Been thinking about going to Pembroke for the best part of a couple years now! Only minor quibble would be the flickering half frame transitions, I find them painful to watch.

Pembroke is great but those video effects almost make me sick.

Nice to see a video of accessible routes, or ones you've done. I wonder if these really are Neil's favourite routes, or whether they're just the 3 most famous at E1/2/3? Good routes though!
