OK . . . Me & Mrs C are heading to Brittany for two weeks for a camper vanning / cycling holiday. We each have a road and MTB but only room for one bike each on the rack.

Planning day rides from the camp sites so what’s our best options. . . . Road, MTB’s or slick / semi slick tyres on mountain bikes?

( not “ hard core” )

Ta !

In reply to coinneach: would you rather rude on or off road? Youre limited one way with a road bike, not so with an MTB.

I think the local population would prefer if he was polite, but you never know when in 'foreign parts'

Mtb semi-slicks... Or buy a new gravel bike just before you go away... That's got to work.

In reply to coinneach:

Having used both there, an mtb with slicks or semi slick would cover most options unless planning on sticking only to tarmac, it is hilly rolling terrain so if only going on the road a ligher bike might be nicer.
