I've just purchased a second hand haibike trekking 1.0 and on the first ride out, the same thing happened to me. The chain jumped off front sprocket and wedged between the motor and the sprocket. I had to separate the chain to release it. This is an obvious design flaw. The small raised bosses on the motor housing trap the chain.
Did the removal of links resolve it ?
