Advice please to secure a powerful headtorch (supplied with strong elastics) onto my mtb helmet?

I used to use helmet clips on climbing helmets but many climbing and mtb helmets have a broad depth of material and the clips no longer stretch around the extra dimension - I know that there are mtb specific lights but I want to use what I have without buying something new.

Cable ties through ventilation holes?

Never seen those before. Presumably the adhesive is reliable?

So long as the surface where each clip is to be positioned is clean before attaching them - there's even a cleaning wipe included - there shouldn't be any issues with poor adhesion.

I fitted these clips to my bike helmet a couple of months ago; so far so good...

I use velcro cable tie/strap type things, dirt cheap on eBay
