I’m after a good quality second hand 26” MTB and have been offered to opportunity to purchase a brand new Ribble R9 carbon mountain bike for £400.

Can’t seem to find any info on this particlular bike and am just after some advice if anyone knows whether this specific bike at that price represents good value, or not.

Seems like it to me, but am very wary of deals that sound to good to be true.

Am viewing it on Thursday, so any info on the bike would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A brand new carbon MTB at £400 is extremely cheap, I assume bought years ago and never used?

I know nothing about the bike but on the face I'd be careful.

If you can stretch to it have a look at this http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/calibre-line-10-mountain-bike-p414112

Pretty impressive for the £££

Really depends what you plan to do with a bike.

Frame only, as you've probably found on the web, seemed to be around £400 new.

There's an old ebay listing where the seller is saying that his cost £1100 new, with a Deore groupset.

Other than that there's not much out there is there? Maybe email Ribble themselves for some info?

Could be legit. Brand new fully built up with Deore £849. Nice looking bike.

Thanks all. It was an unsold item on eBay. Badly listed which I think hasn’t helped them selling. The photos weren’t great either.

Off to see it this afternoon. If they’ll take £400 I’ll probably buy it...

Will let you know!
