This week I've needed to buy 2 sets of wheels. The first was super easy - they had to be 700c and 11 speed. A short drive and 30 minutes later and the job was done. The other set of wheels is proving to be far more difficult...

I'm trying to find 26" wheels, BUT, for rim brakes. Surely someone still makes them? All the shops I've been in only sell disc brake wheels. It's extremely annoying :-P They don't have to be super all singing all dancing carbon wheels, just something decent that'll fit a 10 speed cassette.

Take a look at Halfords, they do 26" rim brake wheels for about £40 a piece.

Chain Reaction Cycles have a large range of mavic rims in stock so you'd be sure to find something to suit budget and intended use.

I had a look on there but I get confused looking on-line as there are so many options, they mainly seemed to be for discs though.

Front: Mavic 217 on Hope Hub. Probably needs new bearing and has ding (see photos). You can have this wheel is you buy the other one

Rear: Mavic 117 on Shimano FH-M475. Rim/Disc compatible.

They look good to me, it's only a cheap bike (hence no £100 wheelsets), so as long as they'll fit a 10 speed cassette they'll be fine

I shall investigate this possibility! To be honest if I have to drive it's probably not worth it as it'll cost more in petrol and time, than just buying some fancy wheels :-P

Just realised these probably aren't any good as I'm wanting to run 2.4's and 17mm is a bit narrow for that :-/
