Backpacking Italy where to go

Hi,

We will be backpacking through Italy and are interested in doing some bouldering. We will be there early July and will be on foot. It doesn't really matter where because we haven't set an agenda yet. We are starting off in Rome. Can you recommend any places easily accessible by bus or train and good for bouldering in July?

Yer gonna get baked, so maybe worth heading for somewhere at a bit of altitude. Val di Mello springs to mind, it's a fantastic bouldering area, but not exactly close to Rome.
