Instead of spending £6,000,000 on the latest trendy brand of "bouldering trousers" why not just wear a cheap pair of something stretchy. Funny how even jeans are trendy at times, even though they are shite for moving in. I'm not into bouldering, but I think that the marketing boys have winded everyone in big style.
Same with general outdoor gear. How many times do we hear the word "technical" mentioned. Ffs, how is something you wear technical, unless it deflects cosmic rays when climbing on the moon, or makes you invisible in the ODG?
I remember buying a Stone Monkey body-warmer from an outdoor shop, simply because it was at a discount price and it was warm and thin enough to wear under other outer layers. The assistant kept on telling me how technical it was, as it allowed you to reach for holds without riding up! I call that fit for use myself, not technical.
Bullshit sells, as they say.
