Hi guys

Has anyone replaced the old foam in their bouldering mat?
I have a very old metolius pad that needs re-stuffing, but not sure whether to email Alpkit/Climbing Factory (i.e. bouldering mat makers) or to fill with various different foams from websites such as this one..

Or just use a big piece of upholstery foam and find some high density foam for the top layer

Any advice?
Thanks

Buying the correct foam top and bottom in single unit quantities will cost you as much as a new pad. You may have more luck contacting alpkit or others.

I have replaced the foam in my edelrid pad and it made a huge difference from it being like an expensive crisp packet into a pretty decent mat. It cost about 30-35 squids for the two soft layers of foam (there are 4 layers in edelrid pads and the hard ones were ok) - i got the foam from these guys in stoke http://www.foamfurnishings.co.uk/index.html, the guy was super knowledgeable that cut the foam for me and seemed to know plenty about bouldering pads.
