Just wondering if anyone has any recent experience trying to take bouldering pads on planes as hold luggage, specifically on Easy Jet, but useful to know about other airlines too?

According to their website the dimensions of my pad does not exceed their luggage maximum combined dimensions, but just wondered if anyone had ever had any trouble, and they have insisted you take it as sports equipment or charged extra etc. at check in?

As pads are light, if they are within dimensions, most airlines don't bat an eyelid, although they may make you put through the oversize baggage desk.

Consider wrapping it, and stuffing some of your heavier stuff inside. 

Took 2 pads wrapped up together in heavy packing cling film to albarracin a few years ago as normal luggage with no problems.
