In reply to Murcantile:
It depends how desperate you are. Thirty years ago, back when I lived in Swindon, I used to use a wall round the back of the Wheatsheaf pub in Old Town. It wasn't anything special, but it had holds enough to allow you to be creative about things and get a decent forearm pump going. Not too far out of town, some of the bridges on disused railway tracks used to offer something similar; buy a map and see if you can find any likely candidates. And I always thought the retaining wall that runs directly west from the railway station in the middle of Swindon had potential, though other factors such as traffic, accumulated dirt from traffic and the potential for a member of the railway staff saying the equivalent of 'Get orrff my laaand' always put me off trying it. Still, if you've got the itch and can't get out of town...
