The famous boulder in the sand see of Cul de Chien has become very dangerous, due to the formation of a crack at the pedestal. The erosion commission asks to definitely avoid to climb on this boulder since the risks of topple-over are real.

Bump... Would be a shame if this did topple (and probably not nice for anyone climbing it at the time)

In reply to dan: I thought the crack was there years ago, as was the guidance not to climb it. Maybe it has got worse?

Never mind the erosion commission, the self-preservation commission should convince you not to be the person dangling under the massive boulder when it finally falls over!

This is nothing new, for years we've been asked not to climb on the "Bilboquet"... some people never listen though.

On the plus side, if you survive being there when it topples over you get to claim first ascent on some soon-to-become classic problems in a prime location in Font ... if you dare own up.
