I have been looking for a guide for a little trip down to Cornwall and wanted to know if anyone has the old 1998 version of the "Cheesewring and South East Cornwall: A Climber's Guide Hardcover – 1 Aug 1998" and, if so, does it have the Helman Tor area in it? Or will I have to get the newer version? 

The old guide, though cool, isn’t very good for Helman - not good at all in fact. 

Far better to get the more recent Cheesewring guide which is excellent generally and comprehensive for Helman. 

Boulder Britain is just as good for a casual visit up to about 6C+

Either way, most of the better problems are fairly obvious and can easily be navigated by using the UKC page.
