Going to head to Northumberland for day's bouldering and want to have a really good day climbing loads of problems around V3-5. Looking for somewhere that's pretty friendly, without a massive walk-in, sunny, clean problems, nice landings - you know, somewhere that's fun and jolly.

Where's best? Driving from Kendal so only looking at the South really. Callerhues? Shaftoe? Anywhere else suitable?

Any particular must-do problems or must-visit spots?

Cheers!

Shaftoe is the biggest boulder venue in Northumberland and fits your needs mate, short walk-in, nice spot and pretty big and varied. Rothley is up the road & roadside so worth a visit, though has some nasty landings. Simonside is also worth a look though does take some walking to get to most of the outcrops.
