Has anyone had any experience of travel by train or bus with a crash pad and or children. Would like to take the kids out to the peak from Sheffield and don't have access to a car right now, im aware there is probably a more limited service but reason for travel is valid at least (travel for excercise and all that), just wondering if anyone has experienced any issues.

I never had any issues travelling from Chester-le-Street down to the North Yorks Moors or catching a bus up to some of the Northumberland crags a few years ago beyond having people in town calling me a "Mattress Wanker".
