My friend found a birds nest on Venery (HVS 4c), then when abbing down to strip gear having retreated from the route he found a further two nests yesterday.

Traditionally, jackdaws nest there and the young ones try to nibble your hands.

Whether that's still the case I've no idea.

Apparently they looked pretty surprised! There was no sign of a bird ban on Raven's Tor on the RAD hence reporting it, I have only climbed in the area once before and was not aware of any traditional nesting sites.

If it's jackdaws then no need for a ban. They're tuff little feckers that will quite happily cope with a few climbers going past.

However kestrels also frequently nest on that crag and those are susceptible to disturbance.
