In reply to Team BMC:
If you are interested in helping to monitor Ring Ouzel nests this spring, please come along to this meeting.
There has been a lot of successful work done by climbers, BMC volunteers and particularly Bill Gordon, the ranger at Stanage, over the years to protect breeding Ring Ouzels. With the Eastern Moors Partnership taking on management of Burbage and Bill moving towards retirement we are trying to spread some of the monitoring workload and continue this effort.
We’re looking for volunteers, especially climbers and walkers, willing to help monitor nests - likely visiting Stanage or Burbage (as a minimum) once a week for a four week period in the spring.
It would be great to have people who have previously carried out bird nest monitoring e.g. through the BTO Nest Record Scheme, or who would be keen to sign up to the scheme, but this isn’t crucial. More details here:
https://www.bto.org/volunteer-surveys/nrs
And more details of the EMP work here:

Bill and I will be at the meeting to chat to - if you can’t make it but would like to be involved, or for any more info generally, please drop me an email.
Cheers,
Kim Leyland (contract ecologist for the Eastern Moors Partnership)
