Hello,

Anyone confirm nesting bird restrictions at Creag Ghlas in Strathconon? I see on UKC that someone has earned about them in march, but mcos is saying it's fine (I think.)

The birds are gone. We checked with Mountaineering Scotland last week who said no restrictions anymore and were there yesterday. We did Salamander (HVS) which was great and clean and then we did Spider in  a dark room (E1 5b) which was lovely and quite spicy, too, and then we wanted to finish off on Hall of Mirrors (E2 allegedly three star if not four). We did the first 25 metres off it which was ok, but the rest was extra dirty. I think we or somebody needs to come back and seriously clean the upper cracks. It is filthy, basically heather and moss cracks!!!) To answer your question, no bird restrictions. Just watch for the midges and the ticks- yikes!

Cheers Heike, I pulled a tick off carol's eyelid this morning, so we are aware! Will go tomorrow and then update UKC logbooks page.

Yikes, but it is hard to avoid, larder on the smidge and deet and have fun!
