Good evening all. just going thorough the North of England Rock Climbs guide & was wondering if it's still possible to access the above crag.

I'm no longer based in the north but going home next week & thought it may be a nice little venture?

Also if it's still possible to climb there does anyone know what condition it's in?

Andy help/advice would be appreciated.

Andy.

In reply to Andy Hay:

The Hoff has been banned for a number of years now. Access to Kings Meaburn is fine but the crag isn't great.

If you have a partner there is a bolted crag in Appleby, Coudy Rock.

Coudy Rock

It's in as Jubilee Bridge Quarry in the Stew Wilson guide

Wash yer chops out. There's a few good routes to go at around VS-E2 and it's in a very idyllic setting. Well worth a visit. Lots of nettles and undergrowth round the base of the crag this time of year unless someone has cut it back though.

In reply to Removed User:

The nettles and brambles are managed by the crag, it is self gardening. Chunks of it regularly fall off flatten g the vegetation. Such is the quality.

I worked with a relative of the landowner - apparently his lawyers insisted on the ban to avoid liability rather than the landowner suddenly deciding himself
