Kestrels nesting at Dewerstone

It has been reported to me that Kestrels are nesting close to the belay at the end of the first pitch of Climbers Club Ordinary. This will be added to the RAD. Avoiding this area  until we have more information is the best course of action.

Hi James,

I was about to post the same when I found this thread.

We climbed to the belay of CC Direct on Sunday, and then noticed a kestrel circling and trying to fly in above us.  

The nest isn't at the belay, or in the V groove immediately above, looks like it might be somewhere higher on pitch 2.

We abbed off when we realised it was probably nesting.

I'd say avoid all routes that use this belay and climb the upper face in this area.

Climbed there yesterday. Was informed the nest was on the last section of ccd second pitch but turns out it is on the ledge immediately above the v groove
