Ravensdale - access ban

Not too sure if this has made it to widespread knowledge yet, but Natural England have placed a complete ban on climbing in Ravensdale due to nesting.

You mean 'complete' as in banning all the crag temporarily, right? Not as in banning all climbing permanently?

Yeah, sorry I should have been more clear. According to the BMC the whole crag has been made off limits during the nesting season as opposed to the individual buttresses actually occupied.

Hope this clears it up.

Raven's are early nesters (Feb/March) so hopefully by the time the weather has cheered up enough to encourage climbing at Ravensdale the young will have fledged.
I agree a total blanket ban is unnecessary anyhow.
