Hoping to visit Garbh Bheinn (Ardgour) in September to tackle one or two of the quality rock climbs or scrambles (Great Ridge, Butterknife, Pinnacle Ridge). There's a note in the SMC guide that access can be denied in September due to stag hunting. Does anyone know more or how to find out?

Also interested if anyone can recommend a spot for wild camping from which to tackle these routes - perhaps not too far from the road.

Many thanks

Martin

Note I haven't checked if the relevant estate contributes.

Worth checking here, although it isn't very user friendly:

Also Walkhighlands include the relevant bits of info in their route descriptions. See here for Garbh Bheinn:

Garbh Bheinn is included under those details, in W Highlands. With the access legislation, not sure why the guide would say access denied, maybe the guide is out of date. But worth giving the estate the courtesy of working around them.

Big thanks everyone. I've followed the links and will email the contact given. Looks like we will be OK though.

"Access from the cattle grid on the A861 at Glen Tarbert watershed via Coire a Chothruim is generally not affected by stalking"

From memory thats the slog up if you want to access the climbs so should be fine. Great ridge access might be more affected though as thats right into the bits of hill they tend to stalk in.
