I wasn't sure which forum to put this in - plumped for this one because it's largely about access, even though it really doesn't have anything to do with crags.

https://consultations.gov.wales/sites/default/files/consultation_doc_files/...

It'll mostly be of interest to paddlers (white water paddlers especially), because it has the potential to greatly improve the situation for access to rivers. There's a clause in there that will particularly catch mountain bikers' eye too*.

Came to my attention on a canoeing forum. I know there are kayakers & canoeists here who may not have seen it, so just in case, have a look here:
http://www.canoewales.com/ws-blog/post/2229-canoe-wales-and-british-canoein...

There's an online survey here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc-tzlt07rIRARY5ojO7rRgo2aRuXVu858... and it would be helpful if as many paddlers as possible could fill that in.

I know - BC (formerly the BCU) doing something positive about access! Who would've thought it eh?

* - Proposal 10, on page 38 of that gov.wales pdf.
In reply to deepsoup: I'm not sure you're completely correct in saying that it doesn't have anything to do with climbing...

Proposal 13 could potentially make a massive difference!
Proposal 13
To extend CRoW Act access land to the coast and cliffs.

<Facepalm> You're right of course.

In reply to deepsoup:
Here's something that has absolutely nothing to do with access, but it strikes me as a bloody marvellous idea. I'd be all for it (in England too):

"Environment

Littering from Vehicles
Question 28

Do you agree the Welsh Government should introduce powers in Wales that will allow local authorities to be able to issue a financial penalty to a registered keeper of a vehicle if litter has been dropped from that vehicle, regardless of whether the identity of the individual who committed the littering offence is known? Interesting survey. Thanks.

In reply to deepsoup: as a relative newcomer to paddling, I'm hopeful to see some improvement, but I'm not holding my breath. The countryside alliance were very vocally opposed to any concessions at the Royal Welsh Show, but I don't really know how much influence landowning groups have on the Welsh govt.

That's me too. Hopeful, but not wildly optimistic. Still, it definitely seems worth filling in a quick survey and maybe writing a couple of emails.
