New landowners have recently moved in and signs of Private woodland and no right of way have been put up around Wright's Rock and the field beneath. If climbers could avoid the main bulk of Wright's Rock and the smaller buttresses enclosed within the field, until the BMC access team have had chance to contact the landowners and try and negotiate access for climbers at this superb crag.

Many Thanks

This may or may not be relevant but I spoke to the new landowner about 3 weeks ago. He was friendly and said he didn't mind climbers (as they cleaned up litter and kept unruly kids at bay) however he had issues with dogs bothering his livestock and had had some arguments with rude dog owing climbers. He also said his lawyers had advised him he shouldn't allow access but currently didnt seem that bothered. I whent last week and saw the signs and presumed he was just stamping his ownership on the previously well used access/addressing perceived liability issues.

Hope this gets sorted quickly as it's one of the best bouldering venues in the peak/Midlands IMHO.

Thats really good to hear that he was supportive for climbers and hopefully a deal can be struck. Just hope everyone behaves while this is being sorted. Would be a real shame if we lost access due to rudeness. Thanks for the info
