Sorry to hi-jack your thread but I'm just getting to the end of the book and was wondering what others thought of it.
One thing I've found mildly irritating is his constant references to DOWNING jackets, DOWNING sleeping bags.
Now I've heard of DOWN clothing - I even have a down jacket - but I must say I've never heard of it being referred to as downing.
