Lying down in the dark to dream

I just heard that for the first time last year and got instantly addicted! It’s timeless but also hilarious the way the rhyming starts off brilliantly including the shoehorning of “coagulating” into the lyrics, and gradually deteriorates to the point where “Alabama” is meant to rhyme with “Red China” . Which makes it even better
Dancing With Tears in my Eyes
Agree. Brilliant song - so "of its time", but just as relevant today. McGuire was one time lead singer with The New Christy Minstrels. Remember "Three Wheels on my Wagon" and "Green Green"?

A song for the dead- Queens of the stone age
Ghost town- The Specials
Whistlin past the graveyard- Tom Waits
This morning, I was bouldering at a wall which was playing a "Vietnam War Rock n Roll" compilation...
But to cheer yourself up, Laibach's Whistleblowers
Richard Cheese's cover of Down with the Sickness...sure to get a spring in your step...

Memorably featured on the Dawn of the Dead remake in 2004 or sometime like that.
Corvid-19 by the Counting Crows?

Fantastic song, and spot on about the lyrics. Back in the day I enjoyed this version youtube.com/watch?v=ydqAbLLAlLc&
And while looking for that I found this youtube.com/watch?v=sYsXKhBknyM& not their best but I love the Power Rangers style video.

The entire back catalogue of Biohazard
Protect and Survive - Runrig
"Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear
You give me fever (you give me fever) when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight (you give me fever)
Fever in the mornin'
Fever all through the night"
Peggy love, I think you need to self isolate!!!
> 😃 I think it's 'hate your neighbour'
I think you might be right but it does sound like "eat", plus the "say grace" bit makes me think about saying grace before a meal...
The original tune was a demo; they were going to go back and finish it. The exec in charge of the studio liked it and released it to radio. The next day it was a massive hit. A bit of rock 'n' roll history.

What about this absolute cracker? youtube.com/watch?v=DPTpBoYVD8Q& 'There are all these rumours circulating around, you should remember whose side you are on' No-one ever said it was gonna be easy.
"Panic in the World" Be Bop Deluxe
youtube.com/watch?v=3K3uAlyNL5o& It's not much fun.
It is quite good.
Have a look at the Top of the Pops performance of Inspirals and Mark doing I Want You, for a great example of undisguised regret on someone’s face (Tom Hingley regretting having Mark live on national TV, that is)
dire straits - Money for Nothing.
> Have a look at the Top of the Pops performance of Inspirals and Mark doing I Want You, for a great example of undisguised regret on someone’s face (Tom Hingley regretting having Mark live on national TV, that is)
I had a look at that, despite the lack of a link..... I had seen it before, but I enjoyed it again. I didn't detect any regret. Were you perhaps thinking of their appearance on The Tube? John Peel was given the chance to pick a band to appear on the show and he picked The Fall. Jools Holland didn't look to happy about it.
