Those words always make me think of The Orb before Flash Gordon, which is weird because I have watched it loads of times

The track 'the ecstacy of gold' from the good, the bad & the ugly is ace.

THE THIRD MAN - I like the sound track (and the movie too)

The City of Prague Philharmonic's   6 CD  set of film themes is fantastic listening, spanning nearly 70 years from 1939 to 2006. My own favorite, is also one of the shortest : the 20th Century Fox Fanfare with Cinescope Extension. Perhaps one , if not the most recognized  piece of film music in the World.

I'm not being pedantic here, but is it the music or the films that are forgotten?

I am as bewildered! The Third Man? One of the all time classics and probably better remembered for its music than anything else!

... and being used on an aftershave advert last night!

Love the Spaghetti Western music - I had them on vinyl as a kid.

Yes that is where I watched it, too, and was reminded of how good the music is!

Check out Zabriski Point, possibly the best sound track for a crap film ever

I don't think I've even seen the film, but "Lovesong for a Vampire" keeps springing up of late, and it's held up pretty well. Still very 80's, but still a great piece of songwriting.

The Grateful dead and Pink Floyd IIRC.  The only thing I remember (badly) about the movie apart from the soundtrack was the house exploding at the end (or did I just make that up?)
