In reply to Phantom Disliker:
Lots of variety in psytrance. It was originally called Goa trance but as the music diversified and became global it was changed to psychedelic trance. Can go from the most uplifting and complicated of tunes to really dark minimal stuff. Generally I tend toward the latter but a good tune is a good tune whatever the sub-genre.
There's also spinoff into slower music but using the same sounds, even some breakbeat and drum and bass stuff. Needless to say it sounds even better under the influence of psychedelics, but then that's true of almost all music.
Some old faves:
Conga Fury by Juno Reactor:
The Egg by Orichalcum:
Deranger by Hallucinogen:
The Frog by X-Dream: (the whole album Radio is really good)
My Dear Medical Assurance by Transwave:
Hit and Run by Slinky Wizard:
Ant Invasion by Planet B.E.N:
Hicksville by Celtic Cross: (nice album of slower music)
