Missing: Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, which opened with this:

The mysterious cities of gold. Not just the best children's tv series of all time, but perhaps the best tv series period. Complex characters with realistic motivations, genuine historical depth, brilliant soundtrack, remarkable imagination, and a plot that kept you hooked through 39 episodes. I got the DVD a couple of years back and it was even better than I remembered.

Ulysses 31 was good, but the characters were a bit dull in retrospect, and some of the dialogue cringeworthy. 'By the great galaxy' indeed. Despite that, it'd still be in there.

As would dangermouse. David Jason's finest hour.

I agree that Scrappy was a little tiresome. The modern ones are a load of rubbish too; they're now all full of emotions and relationships. For example in the series 'Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated', Velma and Shaggy are in a relationship with many lines like 'Shaggy, you must choose between me and Scooby.' Utter load of rubbish, the modern ones.

However, the 1976-1978 incarnations, known collectively as 'The Scooby-Doo Show' are amazing, and I watch an episode or two almost every day.

It was "Battle of the Planets"' all the way for me when I was a kid... Or "Gatchaman", as it's called out here in Japan.

I was amazed when I first came to live here and discovered that many of the programmes I used to love as a kid were Japanese, dubbed into English... "Battle of the Planets", "Godzilla", "Monkey Magic"...!
