Stanhope Ashes Quarry West. 5A to 7A+ so far. SE facing limestone quarry. Easy access and superb rock.
This is huge, with 11 routes already, massive potential, just a lack of bolts holding back further development for now. All contributions gratefully received
Do those of us who've already bought the guide qualify for free supplements? ;)
The guide is nothing to do with me I'm afraid.... better to get back in touch with Richard.
Had a great day down at the Dene yesterday, thanks to the team who've bolted all the routes. Had some fun in the 5-6a range and and a couple of the lads enjoyed working the routes around 7a. All to the soundtrack of woodpecker, warbler and curlew. Only going to get better with a bit more traffic and a bit more brushing
It's quite the sun trap too, there were some pink shoulders on display at the end of the day.
Spotted a slow worm on the walk along to Barney's from Bamm Bamm so tread carefully!
Really pleased you enjoyed it... spread the word and check out Stanhope Ashes Quarry West!
Alex Puccio has climbed Heritage, a Carlo Traversi Font 8B+ in Val Bavona, Switzerland. This was Puccio's fifth climb graded 8B+ after previously climbing Jade, The Wheel of Chaos, New Baseline and The Penrose Step.
