I'm off to the Lyngen alps next Easter for some ski touring, I've got the excellent Fri Flyt Norway select book but was wondering what was the best guidebook that covered the area in more detail, there seems to be two: "Ski touring in Troms" and "The Lyngen Alps Skiing / Climbing / Trekking"

Anyone got any opinions as to which is better for touring?

Map is enough .

but perhaps TobyA can say his opinion, K recall he has or has used one or the other guide.

They are both so expensive I've always used what Dave has!

Ebdon - from memory they are both good, if you want to climb whilst there, the Lyngen one is best.

Cheers booth, there so expensive I wanted to make sure its worth it. on previous trips to other Norwegian areas I've done quite well with just what's on UT.no but there doesn't seem to be so many routes for the Tromso/lyngen area

One option might be just to buy the Fri Flyt maps which have the tours from the book marked on them:
