I have heard about the project going on in Swindale and would like to go and see the results, especially the flower meadows. Does anyone know if, apart from RoW, there is any access?

I know they have reinstated the natural bends back into the river which is now 890m rather than the 750m it was in its straightened form. You can get a good view from Gouther Crag. There are also paths on either side of the valley. The one on the crag side probably being the more scenic, lovely swimming spot up at the head of the valley.

Some good info on here:

Good access right up the valley, paths all over the place and gates in fences too. Beautiful valley.

That’s great, thank you. Sounds like we may not have time to get any climbing in!

Yeah mid-summer swimming at the head of Swindale is the best. Good cliff jump next to the big waterfall.
