Had been planning a trip to Oz this March and wondered what state the Blue mountains were in and the chances of climbing with all the fires that have been happening lately??

Anyone from there or know about the wildfires and their extent or a good place to look for info on this.

In reply to rob.s22: pretty sure there have been no major fires in the bluies. There are plenty of areas to choose from if one happens to be closed off which is unlikely. Check out www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/ for more. The latest ones are in the south of the state so nowhere nr the blue mtns.

There is a fire now in Kurrajong, so if you were here now I would say MAYBE avoid the Bells Line of Road and related areas eg Pierces Pass depending on the severity. However March isn't really bushfire season so I wouldn't worry too much.
