Chamonix... how busy?

Hi guys,

We’re going to nip to cham for a quick smash and grab by car a week today.

Just wondering how busy it is at the mo? Is it quiet... lack of foreigners... or is it rammed a la Cheddar?

Would be useful to have an idea so we can tailor our expectations a little...

Thanks!

As no-one's given any more useful info yet, the town centre looks very quiet just at the moment: https://www.chamonix.com/webcam-chamonix-office-de-tourisme,48-5050680,en.html

Edit: although there's plenty of stuff being climbed: https://www.chamoniarde.com/en/mountain-topics/mountain-conditions#

have been out of the valley for a few weeks, but it was very quiet when i left. granted french school hollidays are starting soon if not already, so things will be getting busier, but on the grand scheme of things with limmited international tourism this summer i expect chamonix to be relatively quiet! sure if you want to climb the arete des cosmiques or brevant east face your gonna have to be up early or join the queue, but you will find plenty to go at

We don't want you type round these parts. Theres better places to go bouldering, don't bother adding to the queues, take your mat elsewhere!

Thanks guys... very interesting. Will be cool to experience it not rammed in summer!

Regarding RedEd’s comment... well go on your own then. 😆
