Thinking of heading to Chulilla the last week of may do you think it will be too hot?

Is there enough friendly climbing in the 6b range to keep my girlfriend happy for a week? Any crags with a good range of grades? 6b-7c

thanks

I'd imagine it'll be pretty flipping hot by then.

It will be hot but not impossible, there are many shady aspects to the Gorge.

Contact Pedro and Nuria at the refugio, they are really helpful and will be able to give clear guidance.

I've not been at that time of year so can't comment on the heat.

I'm never convinced that there are many quality lower 6's near to decent 7's. There are decent 6's dotted around, but the better concentrations are at places like Cherales where there isn't much in the way of harder stuff.

I was there in February and it was too hot for us in the sun.

The 6b ish warm ups were typically "old School" - polished, often rather sparsely bolted and too often with nasty hard moves. There were a few exceptions, but it made it very hard to get a decent day's climbing for me. I wouldn't go back in a hurry. We had been warned - a friend had told me that the 6b's were harder than the 7a's and in a way they were right!
