Hello,

Going to Split for a week next month (providing the new passport turns up), just wondering if anyone has done any climbing out there? If so is it worth paying for extra baggage to take some gear?

In particular looking for info on Marjan and some DWS spots. Are the accessiblr by foot from the city, recommended guidebooks etc? Have tried to get some info on google but only get hits of adventure companies/tours. Too much of a tight arse for that...

We climbed at Cliffbase on Hvar (island) about 10 years ago and enjoyed it.  Mix of sports routes and DWS.

Hvar is an easy ferry ride from Split, but would probably require an overnight stay to make it worthwhile

The climbing in split is accessible by foot from the City. The DWS is closest. Marjan is walkable depending on where you're staying otherwise you can get a cheap bus to Kasjuni beach, then a small walk up the hill. We used a really old guidebook but it worked. Worth taking the gear if you have the money for baggage. As above, hvar is good. There's climbing on most islands.

You'd have more choice if you had a car but some is possible by walking or bus
