Hi,

would anybody kindly from personal experience be able to recommend to us a few suitable areas/sectors for our Christmas holidays?

We will be staying in the Altea, and we are looking for well sheltered sectors with routes between 5 and 6b with occasionally something suitable / easier for 7 years old daughter.

thanks a lot

Matus

Echo 1.5 at Val de Gulabdar. Plenty of friendly routes, good views, roadside, sunny until around 4pm, routes from 3 - 6a+ on the lower crag and a bit harder on the upper crag

In reply to matus: the bay left of Marion on Sella main ridge is both family-friendly and sheltered, as well as also has a few routes for the little ones. Access isn't long either.

Sierra de Toix Toix TV area is a concave sun trap and can be very warm when other sectors are freezing.

Gandia (Penya Roja de Marxuquera) is also often very sunny, but it's worth checking the forecast local to Gandia before making the drive, as the weather than can be very different to that in Altea.

Hope you have a lovely holiday, and if you're there for New Year's Eve don't miss the Three Kings parade in Calpe!

Marin.

Climbed there last week .

Plenty 6a/6b and easier/beginners routes.

A group of youngsters coming down as we arrived.

Warning - it was very hot and little shade.
