Hi, I'm in asturias spain with my children. I was hoping to find a cliff with some easy bolted routes suitable for 8 year olds. 3a,4a sport grades. Has anyone got a recommendation of a suitable destination? Anything in between the picos de europe through to the pyrenees would do.  Extauri looked promising but apparently climbing is banned there

Help much appreciated.

If memory serves, Valdeheusa has some slabby, 3’s and 4’s. The dogs that guard the livestock in the region- Mastins-are pretty harmless but you may find them off putting with children. They do seem to be a feature of the region and are trained to stay with the herd, rather than being drawn off by wolves. We’ve seen them bark constantly until the threat to the herd moves off, but they don’t follow. HTH
