/ Easy Font
Hey guys off to font in a few weeks with the wife, looking for some easy font circuits which arnt to high etc for her to build a spot of confidence up in her climbing again. She really like Rocher des Potets anything else similar?
The orange circuit at Isatis is worth a look. 33 problems, mainly 3m high blocs mainly focused on slabs. Grades around f3 but it will improve your footwork plus the landings are all good.
It's not in the circuits guide but starts approx 20m behind the Memel bloc looking towards Sablons / Haute Plaines direction. I think there is one highball, a 6-7m slab on the back of the Memel bloc (no.7 in the circuit I think). From memory, all (most) problems are worth doing whatever your grade.
If you stick to the areas around milly you will be fine... avoid elephant at least at the beginning of the week as they can seem rather bold with dodgy landings for the unitiated. Places like Cuvier are very polished and not a great intro either. 91.2 has a lovely yellow + orange circuit max height 2.5 m but very varied in terms of holds and moves and is a good intro to some of the oddities you find at font. Canche is a great spot to, and Diplodocus has a great orange and blue circuits and is a nice spot that doesn't get a lot of traffic
Rocher quichot had a lovely easier circuit. Good climbs, not too tall and good landings. Also compact.
Norwegian climber Mari Augusta Salvesen has made the first female ascent of the burly Ray's Roof E7 6c at Baldstones in Staffordshire. First climbed by visiting American Ray Jardine in 1977, the horizontal offwidth crack remains a gritstone testpiece...
