Hi, staying in the Envers hut in a few weeks, and just looking for some general advice..., my previous alpine hut experience has all been un-guardian'ed huts so trying to work out what is there vs what I should bring.

- Staying there 2 nights, potentially bivi a 3rd. Can you buy water and/or dinner but not stay?

- 10 per dorm, is this super squashed in or a relatively nice experience?

- Staying there for a few days, can you have a wash/shower or will it be a sweat fest?

- Any random things I should bring that would make my life easier?

Shame there's no meeting room. That would be a great venue for my next conference...

I stayed there last year. There is a tap outside for drinking water, no idea what the policy for non-guests is, also don't know if you can just buy dinner. There were a few tents not far away, there wasn't much snow or running water about so they must have gotten water somewhere... Don't know how tolorated or not camping is.

Hut was really nice, dinner was substantial, breakfast less so, but we were last up as we were just walking out that day, I suspect it is better if you are up at normal climbing time. Dorm didn't feel crammed, the one I was in had bunk bed platforms with your feet pointing into the middle of the room and each person separated by a half length divider.

No shower, does have toilets and sink though.

You could buy additional snacks and drinks, though expectedly pricey. Guardiennes were very nice, friendly, helpful. You could charge a phone if you asked nicely so long as it was sunny.

Bivvied outside the hut a few years ago, having confirmed (in advance) with the guardian that we'd eat dinner in the hut. They were completely fine with this arrangement, which seemed like a real win-win. Great food, a bit of banter, less to carry, no snoring (or at least only from my mate!), wake up when you want and fab views from the bivvy
