We are staying on the coast about 40 minutes West of Santander with plans to get into the Picos. Can anybody recommend single pitch crags with stuff from 4+ to 5+ on it that would be accessible, and if it is possible to pick up guide books easily while there?

Many thanks.

Off the top of my head...

Berodia is a pleasant crag with some good, if short, routes. And a wonderful view.

Berodia

La Cavadas is similar.

Las Cabadas

Not sure how easy it is to get the guide but I would have thought it was available. Certainly the bar in la Hermida sells the Hermida guide and may well have the big Roca Verde guide too.

I suggest you email Richie Patterson via the Roca Verde webpage and ask him. He wrote the guides and will certainly know. Or if you have time, order a guide via the webpage. Its a great guidebook.

About as child friendly as possible! Let the kids play on the beach
