anyone got any handy beta for Finale; where's cheap to stay?

Any recommended routes / crags / gelaterias?

Have just been here, a true quality place. One of my best European trips. Everything you need is in FinalBorgo, the nearest place to the cliffs. You can eat, drink and stay there for next to nowt - EU50 a night for a good room with a kitchen, etc. Bargain. Also the climbing shop, on the square, sells the guide (excellent - like a grown up Rockfax but with more entertaining English) and the chap who works there will tell you where to go. If you see what I mean.

The sea cliffs are cool, as are the places around the village of Orco. Also try the main area, whose name I forget. But there's enough here for a lifetime, and then some.

A good choice outside Finale is the campside Le Manie "http://www.campingsanmartino.it/". Like Monet wrote: at Finalborgo you find everything, you're searchin. The gelateria on the square is excellent.
"Finale Y2K" seems to be the standard guide.
The sectors of "Bastionata" are a good choice, but most of them are a bit shady.
"Monte Sordo", "Rian Cornei", "Roca di Perti", "Bric del Frate" offer good routes, also in the easier grades (easier routes up to 6a sometimes a bit polished). "Pian Marino" is a nice place for children, but nearly complete polished.
Visiting "Pianarella" you should take along a helmet.
"Superpanza" you should only visit If you're a "hardcore" climber then visit "Superpanza" (mostly long and hard).
"Caprazoppa" has a long approach, but offers unpolished limestone. Ok the routes are not as long, but you have nice views from there.

The Caprazoppa approach is only ten mins, surely?! And the cave at the cemetery is excellent - the 7b there is great.

Oops! Ten minutes?! We needed much more longer to reach sectors "L' Orizzonte" and "Pietra del Sole".

Ah...only went to the cave - the others looked small and a bit dull!

Not as dull with a personal limit of 6b+, accompanied by children and at the easterdays (not as much people as in other sectors).
