The Ecrins is one on the list of places to visit and while I know it is a great area for hiking was wondering if it was also a good choice for solo peak bagging as I do like to climb a few big hills /mountains on my trips. Don't mind a long walk in or a bit of scrambling, but I will be on my own so nothing that could be classed as technically rock climbing.

Should have said although rock climbing routes a out I don't mind a bit of Via Ferrata.

when i was there on my own (90s), i climbed https://www.summitpost.org/pic-de-neige-cordier/150894

quite straightforward alpine scrambling as i remember, and great view of the Barre, but link suggests it's more difficult now..

Hi,

I know you have changed to Zell am see. But incase you ever make it to the Ecrins I have made a free via ferrata App guidebook to the ones around Briancon just search Écrins Briancon Via ferrata on the App Store or google play.

Have a great time in Austria.

Will check it out as I will probably visit Ecrins at some point. Cheers for the heads up.
