Looking for recommendations for the most interesting part of the roaches - for a family picnic. Taking my kids to see their cousin, keeping their distance from one another but looking for interesting rocks to climb on and a nice short walk for a 2 and a 4 year old. Any time to take to respond much appreciated! Thanks

Not quite the Roaches but the west side of Ramshaw rocks may also be suitable walk and simple scramble/climbs on boulders/rocks.

Back Forest, as mentioned above is good. Not sure what climbs/rocks suitable but don't forget to visit Lud's Church.

Alternatively, park at Roach End and walk back south to the Roaches for an open all round view. Lots of rocks near/around trig point for youngsters. (Think they may need a few more years growing before tackling the dyno on Wings of Reason)
