Hello, Moving down to the area in a few months and herd that cheddar gorge was a good place to climb and I was wondering if the place is bolted?

The polish depends primarily on grade and proximity to the road - the further you get from the road the better the climbing gets. Most of the stuff down by the road in my opinion is not that great as it tends to be on sloping bedding planes, making the trend of climbing to be climbing from one break to the next, usually with a bloody hard start and a bloody hard finish with an easy section in the middle, with the hard parts often consisting of insecure technical climbing on sloping holds. Once you get up and away from the road the rock changes to more pocketed limestone with dissolution pockets and cracks and it becomes ace.
